It's a well-known fact that chefs have become the new rock stars.

From former party animal Anthony Bourdain -- we'd liken him to a more together Keith Richards -- to supermodel-like Giada De Laurentiis, the kitchen is in these days.

While chefs across the country are getting recognition from culinary bigwigs like the James Beard Foundation, reality-TV series on the Food Network, or cooking magazines galore, just like the ever-growing farm-to-table movement, we like to keep it local.

We think we have some pretty damned good talent in these here parts of the country. From Asian to new American to traditional French technique and everywhere in between, we have some amazing men and women cooking up a local scene.

With that, we've decided to compile a list of our best of the best. Here are the ten best chefs in Palm Beach County.

10. Darryl Moiles, The Four Seasons
As executive chef of the distinguished Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach, to say Moiles can look after a million moving pieces would almost be an understatement; with multiple restaurants within the five-star resort, he expertly offers the best of the best. His self-proclaimed "American flare" is evident in his new takes on classics like his lump crab cake with parsnip purée, watercress, Cabernet tomatoes, and balsamic brown butter and internationally inspired dishes, such as tuna tartare and scallop crudo. If it's good enough for the rich and famous, it's good enough for us.

9. Aaron Black, PB Catch
The creator of PB Catch's unusual yet ingenious sea-cuterie offerings, Black can do things to local seafood that most chefs only dream they can do. From salmon pastrami and octopus torchon to MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) Certified Chilean sea bass with caramelized soy Brussels sprouts, enoki mushrooms, glazed baby carrots, and crispy leeks, he has a way of coaxing out the ideal combination of flavors from the sea. There's a reason PB Catch got our pick for Best Seafood Restaurant -- 2013; suffice it to say, Black a had little something to do with that.
