Team Behind Park Tavern, Cut 432 Opening El Camino in Delray Beach
From high-end to budget-friendly, Asian to classic French, casual to little black dress, and everything in between, there are plenty of places to grab a snack or enjoy an extended romantic meal.
Over the coming months, Delray is about to see its newest Mexican soul-food option, El Camino.
Owned by Brandon Belluscio, Brian Albe, and Anthony Pizzo, the Mexican soul-food and tequila bar will be opening its doors in November or early December of this year.
The former garage is currently in the process of being renovated into an indoor/outdoor restaurant. The space will integrate some of the old industrial elements, such as the iron trusses holding up the ceiling and the original (but spruced-up) concrete floor. A reclaimed wood bar, copper lamps, open kitchen, and commissioned graffiti will modernize the interior.
Acclaimed graffiti artist Ruben Ubiera has been contracted to paint a larger-than-life Emiliano Zapata Salazar, a leader of the Mexican revolution along with Frida Kahlo, Day of the Dead skulls, an actual El Camino car, and other Mexican images on the exterior of the building.
According to Belluscio, the food is going to be an amalgamation of different street foods from all around Mexico, with some creative liberties, of course.
"All of the tacos, moles, and tamales come from different regions in Mexico," said Belluscio. "We want to offer dishes that stick toward the traditional roots of Mexican street food."
Overseen by Albe, the beverage program will highlight all things tequila with more than 200 selections to choose from and a wide array of products, from boutique artisanal producers, as well as craft beer, mezcals, and margaritas.
