Wednesday

The Art of Wine
There's a reason food and wine are referred to as the culinary arts; it takes time, effort, and consideration to create a mind-blowing combo. In celebration of the art of making your mouth water, the Boca Raton Museum of Art is starting up a monthly wine series with certified sommelier Stephanie Miskew on Wednesday at 8 p.m. For $35 for members, $40 for non-members or $215 for the non-members for the entire series or $190 for members, guests get a tour of the museum, wine, cheese, and some wine and visual arts education.
The Boca Raton Museum of Art is located at 501 Plaza Real in Boca Raton. Call 561-392-2500, or visit bocamuseum.org.

Hahn Wine Dinner
Everyone knows that properly paired food and wine combinations can elevate any dining experience; however, if you look at a wine list and feel your eyes glaze over from stress, you're better off heading to a pre-packaged wine dinner - which will probably save you some cash anyway. As part of its monthly series, Bistro Ten Zero One is hosting a Hahn wine dinner. For just $45 per person, you get four courses each of which is paired with its optimal wine - see, no more stressing.
Bistro Ten Zero One is located at 1001 Okeechobee Blvd. in West Palm Beach. Call 561-833-1234, or visit bistro1001.com.

Cooking Class at Blue Moon
You're chance to learn how to cook fish -- and drink wine -- with one of the best seafood chefs around is here on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Blue Moon Fish Co. For $65 per person, executive chefs Bryce Statham and Baron Skorish will be taking guests through the ins and outs of a four-course meal paired with Rodney Strong wines. Don't worry: you'll get to eat afterwards.
Blue Moon Fish Co. is located at 4405 W. Tradewinds Ave. in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. Call 954-267-9888, or visit bluemoonfishco.com.

German/ Austrian Wine Tasting
For whatever reason, when it comes to wine, most people think of France or Italy before any of the German-speaking countries. We have a newsflash for you: just like beer, wiener schnitzel, and obviously, BMWs, those folks make some damned good vino. Learn more about it Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Cafe Maxx's wine tasting. The cost to attend is $35 per person.
Cafe Maxx is located at 2601 E. Atlantic Blvd. in Pompano Beach. Call 954-782-0606, or visit cafemaxx.com.

Thursday

On the Ave.
There's something about block parties that makes you want to get in on that community spirit -- maybe its just the sharing of food and drinks. Delray Beach is bringing its notorious On the Ave event to Pineapple Grove this Thursday from 6 to 10 p.m. The art-centric event will feature live music, performance and visual art, and the culinary arts with food from Papa's Tapas and 3rd and 3rd. It's free and open to the public.
On the Ave is taking place on Northeast Second Ave. in Delray Beach. Visit ontheavedelraybeach.com.

Cocktails for Canines - Bachelor Auction
If there are two things most women thoroughly enjoy, it's helping animals and objectifying good looking men over drinks. Do both on Thursday at Salt 7's Cocktails for Canines Bachelor Auction this Thursday at 7 p.m. Benefitting Warm Hearts Rescue in Boynton Beach and the ASPCA, the event includes one complimentary drink and appetizers in the $10 ticket price as well as a chance to win a date with a hot guy. The evening also includes a $5 raffle with a variety of prizes.
Salt 7 is located at 32 SE 2nd Ave. in Delray Beach. Call 561-274-7258, or visit salt7.com

War of the Wines
Friendly competition is never a bad thing -- especially, when it involves drinking. In an attempt to pit the good old US of A against the original patriarch of the culinary world France, Steak 954 is hosting a wine battle royale. On Thursday from 7 to 10 p.m., participants will be recreating the groundbreaking Paris Wine Tasting of 1976 that involved two blind tastings pitting the new and revolutionary winemakers of California against the old world establishment. Five courses will be paired with one French and one California wine in a quest for the best. Tickets are $125 per person.
Steak 954 is located at 401 N. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-414-8333, or visit steak954.com.
