South Florida Food and Drink Events: Pumpkins, Beer, and More
Around and around we go; today is the start to yet another lovely workweek. Hopefully, you have a bit of a spring in your step from some indulgent weekend activities. If not, don't fret, there's still plenty of events to keep you busy through your working days. Whether you're looking to be nice to your body through raw uncooking, give yourself up to plenty of beer, or drink to donate -- obviously -- there's something to do in Broward and Palm Beach Counties this week.

Raw Uncooking Class
Raw and cooking seem counterintuitive; however, you need not add heat to create a tasty recipe. On Monday at 6 p.m., Raw Juce's healthy eating specialist Melanie will be teaching participants how-to make raw foods that are nutritious and taste good, including homemade almond milk, chia seed pudding, and raw bars. The class is free to attend. Registration is required.
Raw Juce is located at 2200 Glades Road, 403 in Boca Raton. Call 561-542-0935, visit facebook.com/RawJuce, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Buddha Goes Pink
Beer is not known to contain any cancer preventing properties, but people like to drink it. On Monday at 6 p.m., Funky Buddha Brewery is teaming up with the American Cancer Society to join the fight against breast cancer. The brewery will be tapping its pink lemonade ale, 100 percent of the proceeds of which will benefit the organization. "Tikiz2u" Shaved Ice & Ice Cream will be outside serving up some treats with 20 percent of the proceeds going to the society and Slow Food Truck will be donating 15 percent of everything it earns.
The Funky Buddha Brewery is located at 1201 NE 38th St. in Oakland Park. Call 954-440-0046, or visit funkybuddhabrewery.com/blog/.
