Ten Best Breakfast Places in Fort Lauderdale

8. Riverside Market
It's not often that you can find a good breakfast and a collection of hundreds of beers in one spiffed up convenience store setting, but the combo does exist. It's called Riverside Market. Tucked away in a residential neighborhood downtown, the spot is best known for its happy hour crowds of local craft beer geeks; however, it serves up one damned fine breakfast too. Breakfast sandwiches and oven-baked omelets -- also known as frittatas to some -- are offered in creative combinations, such as the über cheesy Ed Hardy with your choice of cheese; the latin-inspired 305 with tomatoes, onions, peppers, and homemade salsa; or the healthy Urban Garden, stockpiled with nutrient dense spinach, mushroom, and broccoli. All pair exceptionally well with the wide range of breakfast stouts -- just sayin'.

7. Salsa Fiesta
Fast and fresh Mexican is probably not the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of good breakfast spots, but it should be -- hello, breakfast burritos anyone? Rather than go for your usual old eggs-over-easy, potatoes, bacon, and side of white toast, you would be wise to spice it up sometimes. You do know, variety is the spice of life, right? Here you'll find Mexican-inspired breakfast fare ranging from well-known huevos rancheros and breakfast burritos to gluten-free waffles made with almond flour and topped cinnamon sugar, mango, whipped cream, agave nectar syrup, and guava dipping sauce. It's the exotic way to start your day.

We had the same experience...L-o-o-o-o-ng waits.  Won't seat you.  Asked for a little more syrup for our Fr. Toast (as they only give you an ounce or two, and they said it would be $3 more!  Ha... never go back.  The rules are ridiculous. The food over-priced.

After reading your review my friends and I tried the Old Fort Lauderdale Breakfast House and it was not a good experience.  We and the tables around us were all severely disappointed.  OB House servers are friendly & the food is good, but the wait is way too long and all the rules are arbitrary & ridiculous. Wouldn't recommend!  They don't take reservations, but 1 hr and a half wait, if someone from your party was in the bathroom they won't seat your group and give away your spot in line, you need code for toilet that only the manager has, you can't special order or make changes to anything on the menu so too bad if you don't like spinach they won't not put it on your plate, allergic to something too bad out of luck you have to pick around it, no free refills, they can't separate checks, all orders must be placed together & can't come out of order but all together like of someone is in a hurry and orders only a drink or a salad they have to wait until the rest of the groups foods is cooked in order to serve everyone together even if the group says it's okay, took an hour to be served our food, we found hair in 1/2 the dishes (2 out of 4), we had to argue about the check as they added on extra fees for things they hadn't warned us about up front or that were different on the menu, they charged us for the food with hair and after complaining to 3 different people they credited us $20 from the original $30 they cost, over priced originally $75 for breakfast for 4 without any alcohol orders, & on 3 separate instances they kept trying to take away my plate before I was done and brought the check before everyone finished eating. Good food & a funny adventure if you take it in stride. It was so unbelievable we laughed almost the entire 3 hrs it took us from arriving to leaving. Way to much time for brunch. Would not recommend!

my personal WEEKEND favorite breakfast you didn't mention and again i'm glad because i can get a table and a parking space - OCEAN ALLEYs (YUP right on the bRoadwalk with FREE LOT PARKING) and GRANDPAs (for variety, price and portions).................... (maybe they are technically outside the area covered)...............but certainly EL TAMARINDO on SR84 anytime but for me typically during LUNCH when i want BREAKFAST / BRUCH during the week instead of LUNCH fare - steak eggs cheese sauce potato fried yucca plantain garlic pesto in olive oil to drizzle over toasted cubano bread with espresso cortadito

WHATEVER happened to the GREEK place on sunrise (where it also is fed hwy) (previously an old TACO BELL) IT WAS GREAT and simply vanished - lock stock and barrel - in a single weekend ?

YES lesters diner; parking (plenty) portions (plenty) variety (plenty) desserts (plenty); basically the tri-fecta of ordinary good food

YES st barts oatmeal bowl with bananas cranberries and walnuts for $6 - downside YOU WILL BE MONITORED BY THE GESTAPO parking violations bureau if you park !

YES OPH but only for the scrambled eggs with diced HAM - downside REAL MAPLE SYRUP IS $5 a thimbleful and will not even cover a single silver dollar pancake

the FLORIDIAN has lost it's luster with me not that they should care but for starters try and get a fresh slice of tomato and see that you will get a dumb look from the waitress and an argument from the chef (or whoever that is in the kitchen)

sometimes i think they PAID rick ross to get shot at in front of the place just for the publicity BUT after a twenty plus year ON and OFF relationship - it's OFF

For Mexican breakfast, I really dig Taquera Dona Raquel (get the chorizo and eggs!). That place is legit. For the "higher-end" mention of breakfast, I would've rather seen Shula's on the Beach. Stuffed French Toast! Also, surprised Peter Pan wasn't mentioned. One of the quickest, cheapest, two-egg breakfasts around.

@hsrv5e

just don't ask for a CROISSANT - i just don't know how a "french" place can NOT serve croissants

i guess you don't like OATMEAL with cranberries and bananas and cinnamon sugar and walnuts for $6

RE ST BARTs pigeons

if you are bothered by PIGEONS you better not go to DIRTY BLONDIEs up the street because that place has GORILLAs,  who attack patrons who are then arrested by FT LIQUORDALEs finest PD (1) for being beaten up

otherwise RICK the locals, including myself, just enjoy the simplicity of the place AND YES there are families with baby carriages and the kids feed the pigeons

NEVER visit italy or paris RICK - too many PIGEONs there

oh and yeah don't go on the sand either RICK - too many baby turtles !

(1) the FtL PD later saw a video and changed their tune - arresting the GORILLAs on felony and misdemeanor counts of savage violence (basically stomping on a patron on the ground who was suckerpunched and put in a choke-hold from behind)

@Dori Zinn

peter pan as well as gibby's and the swiss chalet were well known establishments back in the dayz of NE snowbirds in pale-aire and environs who have since migrated to boca and beyond so OPB is no longer the place to go for snowbirds
