Palm Sugar in West Palm Beach Gets a Full Bar and New Menu Items in October
Slider? More like slide over here, into my mouth.
There are also new menu delights on the horizon. A big contender in bar food is coming by way of the Palm Sugar Asian Sliders ($12). Two sliders, with your choice of fish or duck, served with garlic-tograshi fries, make this new item a winner in the "I'm hungry, but not too hungry" category. Other new palette pleasers include Korean-Style Grilled Beef ($10) and the East Asian Cobb Salad ($10) with spring mix, crispy noodles, avocado, tomato, egg, chicken, fried red onions and a special peanut dressing.
There is a method to Palm Sugars new offerings. Audrey told us "The new menu is coming first, and then after that the full bar, and then after that brunch, and later on, for season, Friday and Saturday late night." Sick of pizza and, well, more pizza after midnight? Palm Sugar plans on staying open until 2 a.m. in the near future, hoping to bring a "chilled out" vibe at a time when other restaurants (aka pizza places, did we mention that?) still open might get a little rowdy.
Palm Sugar hardcores, don't worry your little heads. $3 sake bombs all day, everyday and the killer happy hour specials aren't going anywhere. But little by little, these new changes will add up to transition the little restaurant that could into the Clematis powerhouse it was always meant to be.
Palm Sugar is located at 340 Clematis Street in West Palm Beach. Call 561-820-9206, or visit palmsugarwpb.com.
