National Cheeseburger Day: Five Places to Stuff Your Face
Things like National Salad Day (May 1), on the other hand: Who the hell cares?
Today is one of those days worthy of celebration. Whether you're willing to admit it or not, cheeseburgers are one of those foods everyone loves.
Obviously, you could fulfill your inner desire with a quick, inconspicuous pass through the Mickey D's drive-through, but that's no way to honor your love. It needs to be savored slowly and out in the open.
To help you on your cheeseburger quest, here are five places across Broward and Palm Beach counties to satiate you fix.
Burger & Beer Joint in Pembroke Pines
The new Broward spawn of the always-packed South Beach haunt, this place offers some of the best ground-meat patty sandwiches in the 305, 954, and 561 combined. Though you can't go wrong with anything on its creative menu -- nonbeef options too -- today is a day of observance: Take some pride. To fully savor the fatty satisfaction, you might want to try the Mustang Sally (eight-ounce Wagyu beef, red onion marmalade, Brie cheese, and sliced prosciutto cradled between a brioche bun) or the Hotel California (ten ounces of certified Angus prime, guacamole, grilled Vidalia onion, jalapeño relish, cilantro sour cream, sharp cheddar, and a sunny-side-up fried egg, stacked in the middle of a brioche bun). You're certainly not going to be able to leave for a while after that one.
Burger & Beer Joint is located at 11025 Pines Blvd. in Pembroke Pines. Call 954-367-8980, or visit bnbjoint.com.
