Manischewitz App: Holiday Recipes on Your iPhone or Android
September brings a host of Jewish holidays with it. From Rosh Hashanah, which we're currently celebrating, and Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year for Jews, through the end of the month when we observe Simchat Torah, people of Jewish faith are in the midst of a series of significant days where we reflect on our lives and rejoice to a new year.

And, of course, as with most holidays there are traditional foods and meals to be shared with family and friends.
Much of the food is symbolic, with apple and honey eaten for a "sweet year" and hard-boiled eggs representing "life".
The Manischewitz Company has introduced a free kosher recipe app. Available for Apple and Android, the Manischewitz Recipe and Holiday Guide compiles recipes from notable chefs and cookbook authors and categorizes them by holiday, occasion, or by meal.
And the recipes sound awesome. Instead of brisket, how about cola brisket with wine? Even if you're not Jewish or don't keep kosher, the recipes on this app will still come in handy (because who wouldn't eat a steaming bowl of Italian vegetable soup with cheese bread or a golden sweet potato tangine)? And, shopping for ingredients is a breeze because it's all on your iPhone when you get to the market!
