South Florida Food & Drink Events This Week: Beer Bingo, Cooking Classes, and More
Here we go again: time to say hello to another workweek. As is usually the case, the weekend probably just seemed to go flying past. Maybe Days of Our Lives was on to someging, "like sands through the hour glass, these are the days of our lives."

If you're looking to pause the passage of sand -- i.e. time, if you didn't get the metaphor -- Broward and Palm Beach Counties have a number of food and drink events this week. Whether you're looking to take a cooking class, drink some wine, dine, or whatever else, there's something that will offer relief from the day-to-day routine -- for, at least, an evening anyway.
Grilling Fish 101
As more and more individuals have started to move away from meat, fish has become an increasingly popular item in health-conscious diets; however, most people won't cook it at home. To help out would-be seafood cooks, Publix Aprons Cooking School is hosting a grilling fish class on Monday at 6 p.m. For $50 per person, instructors will be giving hands on instructions for citrus mahi mahi; southwest salmon over chipotle slaw; Pacific halibut over white bean puree; and cajun cod with crab succotash.
Publix Apron Cooking School is located at 1181 S. University Drive in Plantation. Call 954-577-7632, or visit publix.com/aprons.
The Beef Class
Whether you consider yourself a carnivore or not, knowing how to prepare a steak never hurt anyone. To brush up on your meat preparation skills, Chef Jean-Pierre's Cooking School is teaching a beef class on Monday at 7:30 p.m. For $70 per person, participants will learn how to make beef stroganoff, the perfect oven roasted steak, and roasted filet mignon.
Chef Jean-Pierre's Cooking School is located at 1436 Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-563-2700, or visit chefjeanpierre.com.
