Ten Best South Florida Food Trucks
2. Slow Food
Our pick for Best Food Truck - 2013, Slow Food Truck serves delicious locally sourced and ethically reared dishes to hungry followers at a roundup near you. In case you haven't figured it out already, the truck gets its name from the growing Slow Food Movement, which focuses on using as much locally grown and unprocessed food as possible. Owners Oren Bass and Zachary Schwartz, both grads of Johnson & Wales University, dish up creative items ranging from slow-braised short rib sandwiches with cheese and crispy shallots to sweet and succulent lobster rolls. It's comfort food that soothes the conscientious soul.
1. Bite Gastrotruck

A recurring player in most of the Broward and Palm Beach county food-truck roundups, Bite chef Ron Kerr serves some of the best burgers -- on four wheels or in brick and mortar -- around. Made with Creekstone beef, options range from the classic hamburgers and cheeseburgers to gourmet sauces like bacon-onion jam, chipotle mayo, smokey honey barbecue, and even truffle oil to creative toppings, such as potato sticks, jalapeño, fried egg, and onion rings. Don't worry: Vegetarians have options too. The Tree Hugger vegetarian features a grilled portabella mushroom topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, and spicy chipotle mayo. Take great ingredients and throw them together and you have yourself a proven winner.
