Ahh. Fourth of July: another wonderful day off from work to celebrate good ole' 'Murica.

Traditionally, it's supposed to be celebrated by drinking cold beer and noshing on piles upon piles of barbecue. That's the idea, anyway.

Times have changed for many, whether you live in an apartment, are too lazy to cook -- the most probable factor -- or just don't know how, fortunately, local restaurants have got your national holiday food consumption covered.

Vic & Angelo's and The Office are offering special menus to celebrate the birthday of America.

In addition to their regular menus, both spots are offering patriotic specials to bring on the jubilant holiday spirit.

The Office is featuring American favorites like grilled oysters with garlic butter, crostini, lemon, and parmesan; Black and Blue Grilled Ribeye with blackened seasoning, blue cheese crumbles, smashed red bliss potatoes, and corn on the cob; a seafood boil -- really a steamer -- with steamed clams, mussels, lobster, fish of the day, old bay broth, red potatoes, and corn; and more.

"July Fourth is an important holiday where we celebrate our independence," said Dave Panella, General Manager of The Office. "We wanted to offer our guests items that reflect this important holiday and also represent our distinctive and delicious gourmet comfort food."

Vic & Angelo's is giving the ultimate American holiday a bit of an Italian twist. Dishes like heirloom cherry tomato and fresh mozzarella skewers ($12) drizzled with EVOO and balsamic vinegar; artichokes, roasted garlic, and parmesan fritters ($14) served with salad and saffron aioli; and a 14 ounce slow-cooked prime rib ($32) with fresh garlic and rosemary served with a twice baked potato and au jus; among others highlight America's different cultural influences.

Panella, along with General Managers Diego Nassisi and Stefano Barbagallo of Vic & Angelo's -- in Delray Beach and Palm Beach Gardens, respectively -- all agree that their special dishes, for the holiday, pay homage to the Fourth of July while reflecting the cuisine of each of their restaurants.
