Florida Restaurant Workers Fired Via Text
Every town has its share of restaurants that simply shut their doors without a warning, many of them notifying workers at the end of a shift that this is the last night of service.

But one Florida restaurant owner apparently felt it better to give out the bad news via a text message.
But, instead of letting employees know the old-fashioned way -- in a tearful goodbye or stoic farewell -- Barducci's owner Gregory Kennedy decided to go high-tech and low-class by letting his employees know the bad news via text.
According to the WFTV, employee Jodi Jackson worked at the Italian restaurant for almost two years before she and about a dozen other employees received the same message from Kennedy which simply stated, "I unfortunately need to inform you that I have been forced to close Barducci's effective immediately."
When the station reached out to Kennedy for comment, he replied in (you guessed it) a text:
"Unfortunately businesses are forced to close across Orlando every day especially in the restaurant sector," Kennedy said via text. "I am working to resolve issues including final paychecks as quickly as possible."
Jackson said she still has not received her final paycheck. Customers who purchased Groupons for the restaurant are faring a little better than the workers. The discount site said they will issue refunds for any unused Groupons to the restaurant.
