You may have lost track of the date, but National Burger Month is about to come to an end. Hopefully, you have your tickets in hand, because Friday night is Riverwalk's Burger Battle. 5. Cooking Class
Since you're reading a food blog, we'd imagine it's safe to assume that you like eating. Whether you can actually cook, is a whole other matter. Chef Ursula Rafer is teaching a demonstration cooking course at the Ancient Olive on Saturday from 1 to 3pm. The class is free and will go over fruit salsas and sangria. 4.An Afternoon of Jazz, Jams, and More
Music and food are both made for the purpose of pleasure. Finnegan's Pub is doubling the enjoyment with its Afternoon of Jazz, Jams, and More. On Saturday, from 3:30 to 6:30 pm, the bar will hosting a variety of musicians for your entertainment. A $3 to 5 suggested donation will benefit a nonprofit. 3. Yappy Hour
It's no secret: South Floridians are crazy about their dogs. If you're one of those crazies and want to find a way to spend Sunday Funday with dear ole' Fido, Lauderdale Pet Lodge is hosting a BYOB&D--that's bring your own bottle and dog, in case you haven't figured it out. Humans sit and drink while dog-children run around, swim, hump, or do whatever they please on Sunday from noon to 2 p.m. The cost is $10. Guests are encouraged to RSVP as space is limited. 2. Funky Buddha Brewery Grand Opening
Time to get your beer-drinking on. The Funky Buddha Brewery is opening its doors in Oakland Park this Saturday. Sponsored by the City of Oakland Park, the grand opening will take place from 4 p.m. to midnight -- the ribbon-cutting ceremony is at 5 p.m. The event will feature live music, food trucks including Ms. Cheezious, Bite Gastrotruck, Taco Fresh, and Frankie Dogs, and, obviously, craft beer. 1. Fifth Anniversary and Tour du Monde Launch
The French are good at a great number of things, but partying is definitely one of their strongest suits. To celebrate its fifth anniversary and to kick-off is 'Tour du Monde' summer series of events, Pistache French Bistro is throwing a big bash. Live bands and champagne specials will be featured all night and guests will receive their first passport stamp for their summer world tour--each stamp gets you a complimentary drink at the subsequent event.
