Memorial Day: Where to Celebrate in Broward and Palm Beach Counties

While you probably don't want to spend Memorial Day in a grocery store -- even if it is Whole Foods -- you can always pre-game there. On Saturday, from noon to 3 p.m., Whole Foods Boca, Palm Beach Gardens, and Wellington will be hosting a Support our Troops Cookout with proceeds benefitting the Forgotten Soldiers Outreach Program. Hamburgers, hot dogs, veggies burgers and a side and drink will available for a donation of $5. To get things going, the Boca Raton spot is offering a barbecue special for $24.95 with choice of half-rack of ribs, 1/4 chicken, or slow roasted brisket with two sides and a dessert. For those looking to go down the more casual route Max's BBQ Shack will be set-up outdoors with $6 hamburgers, hot dogs, and pulled pork sandwiches. Budweiser and Miller Lite will be on special for $3 and $5 Breezette Sangria and Thyme Tequila Lemonade are available for non-beerdrinkers.

The waterside bar and restaurant will be holding its 3rd annual Memorial Day celebration with live music starting on Saturday. On Sunday, the spot will be offering barbecue in addition to its regular menu and numerous drink specials--including alcohol infused snow cones.

If you want to start your Memorial Day party a bit early, Il Bacio is starting its Sounds from Miami Memorial Day Party Sunday at 6 p.m. The 3rd annual white attire event will feature tech house DJs from all over South Florida. The spot will feature food specials all night long and half off drinks from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Town Center spot is hosting an entire weekend of events. Friday it's the Forgotten Soldiers Outreach Charity Event from 7 to 10 p.m., make a donation and get a drink ticket. Starting at 9 p.m. Saturday, it's holding Ibiza International Night Beach Party. Sunday live music starts at 5 p.m. Happy hour runs all weekend from 4 to 8 p.m. daily, with 50% off drinks.

Fort Lauderdale Beach
On Saturday, the City of Fort Lauderdale is hosting its 4th Annual Great American Beach Party from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The beach will be taken over by two stages, a classic car show, and multiple games for the kids. At 8:30 p.m. attendees will be privy to a special moving screening by the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival. Exit 66 will be offering barbecue and drink specials.
