General-admission tickets cost $30 in advance. VIP tickets cost $75 and include access to the special VIP tent, additional samplings of premium craft beers, and preferred stage views for the live concert.

But we've got your tickets right here, buddy. Clean Plate Charlie is giving away a pair of Beerfest tickets right now.

Want to win? Just tell us about your very first beer in our comments section -- and be sure to register and comment with a valid email address (so we can contact you if you win). We'll pick the most creative answer on Thursday, March 28, and announce the winner.

In the meantime, you can purchase tickets here (just in case).

Don't forget! If you're a home brewer and want to share your special brew, we want you! To participate, brewers must bring the equivalent of at least three kegs to the party (so to speak). We'll provide you with a table, two chairs, a lighted space, signage, and two staff badges. For details and to reserve your spot, contact anthony.gordon@miaminewtimes.com, or call 305-571-7579.

My first beer was aslo illicitly obtained, at a middle school sleep over!  We bribed some random passer by (perhaps homeless?), loaded a twelve pack into the baskets on our bikes and went in search of a private area to imbibe and become impossibly more mature than we already were.  By the time we found a spot sufficiently off the beaten path, the beer had become luke warm.    Girls being the girls they were found the libation to be utterly distasteful.  I was hooked and did not succumb to the now reverse peer pressure.  I chugged that bad boy and let forth the most awesome belch.  15 years later we still laugh about the 'burp that shook the earth'!

My first beer was when I was about 14 in a small, hick town in Pennsylvania. My friend's parents were all drunk and gave the okay for the group of us to drink a beer. I, actually having the balls to do so, grabbed a bud light out of the refrigerator while trying to coerce the rest of the girls to follow my lead. Not the best of all choices for my first beer, considering it takes like pee. However, I forced it down and proceeded to appear intoxicated to all of my friends. Needless to say, I didn't drink another beer all night and now I make some better selections when choosing to partake in a beer beverage.

I was in the 5th grade when I had my first beer. It was an old Pabst Blue Ribbon that had been sitting in the window seal of our basement for 12 years (according to my dad). I decided to try to sneak it while my dad was building something (as he always did). As soon as he heard the snap of the can he looked back and asked what I was doing. I showed him the can and he told me to try a sip. So I did, trying not to spit up. Then to my surprise, he said you are going to finish that while I watch you do it. I did, I can't believe I like beer to this day. But I realized, it really doesn't get worse than a 12 year old PBR.

My first beer was a Heineken when I was about fourteen; my cousin was visiting from Canada and needless to say he was generous with the passing around of the six pack, his fault not mine.

My first beer was a Medalla on the beach during a family vacation in Puerto Rico. I was in high school and  didn't know about the lax laws down there. My cousins and I snuck away from our parents and went to a beach party where they were serving beers for $1. Needless to say we indulged a bit too much, but it was my first foray into the world of beer. Since then my tastes have gotten more refined and I now appreciate many types of craft beer.

I was never really a beer drinker until a few years ago.  My first beer was a Belgium Raspberry flavored beer that I drank on accident, thinking it was a fruit soda.  Ever since that day, I enjoy trying new craft beers.

My very first beer was a complete accident! I was 13 and I saw a DELICIOUS cup of apple juice sitting on the counter just WAITING to be drank. I pick up the cup, mouth watering from excitement as I tilt the cup to the heavens and enjo....SPIIIITTTTTTT!!! "WHAT IS THIS?!" I yell angrily at no one. "That's disgusting!" I proclaim. Fast forward 15 years and I hope hope hope I can win these tickets because beer is the best thing in the world and I'm so happy I tried a 2nd beer. :)

My first beer was one I took from my uncle's market while I was stocking for him around age 13-14. I would see people take Budweiser, Heineken, and other popular beers. Didn't care for those, but the two that interested me were Lowenbrau and Warsteiner Dunkel.  To this day Warsteiner Dunkel is one of my go to beers. Although, I do tend to support local and small business craft breweries.

My very first beer ever, I was 17, in the keys fishing with my parents. Mom just caught a hige Sailfish, and a celebration was in order!  Unas cerveza porfavor, coma cula de foca!  GRacias!

Well I had beer occasionally but my first real beer was on my first date with my now husband. We were at Ale House shared a pitcher of Amstel Light and I think he was happy to be on a date with a girl who wouldn't mind drinking a beer :) We watched the Dolphins game and before that came from a Softball Game. So I guess I tricked him into thinking I was all about sports and beer lol :) It worked! :)

My very first beer was with my dad probably around 18 or so, it was a nasty bud light.. I was told I had to acquire a taste for beer! thank goodness for IPA's and breweries getting creative and making tasty new beers for me to enjoy with my kids!

I had my first beer on Saturday. I always thought it was a poor persons' drink, but man was I ever wrong! How did I ever live for 28 years without the hoppy goodness of a handcrafted Harpoon IPA? We may never know, but now I am looking forward to Beerfest where I will sample and imbibe a variety of beers and likely have the beer shits the next day (or later that evening, if I play my cards right). rachelrlevy04@gmail.com

My very fist beer was around twelve years of age when my friend and I snuck a Coors Light out of his parents frige. At the time didn't particularly care for the flavor so we put a jaw breaker in it, didn't make it taste any better but had to finish it so no evidence would be left behind, but know I wouldn't be happier to drink beer all day at the New Times Beerfest.

How sweet it was. It was 1955 I was nine years old when I took one of my Grandfathers, Carling Black Label beers out of his storage room in his basement. I got my first buzz on one beer I wish I could get buzzed on one now.

My first beer was at summer camp when I was around 12 or 13. Genesee Ale. We paid our counselor to brink back pizza and beer from town. What a blast from the past to think about that.

I had my first beer when I was home alone at 15. I had spied a case of Budweiser in a can sitting on the dirty floor of our garage the day prior, so I thought I'd try it out. So I grabbed one can from the garage (mind you its in the middle of summer in South Florida) and poured it into the most 'beer-drinkingish' glass we had along with some ice...yes...ice (because I didn't know any better).

Needless to say it tasted like warmed over phlegm, and was a bad first beer experience.

Thankfully some maturity (read:common sense) and a Total Wine opening by my home helped turned me into the beer lover that I am today.
