Top Five Restaurants on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale

For many locals, Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale tends to be viewed as a bit of a tourist trap. Yeah, there are plenty of places to go out for a drink, but often the food can be a bit, um, lacking. That being said, we decided to compile a list of the five best restaurants on Las Olas. 5. Sushi Rock
This little gem of a local sushi place may not have the big bar scene or the glammed-up crowds like the rest of the boulevard, but what it lacks in aesthetics it makes up for in substance. We dare you to try to get a table at prime time in less than an hour on any Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night. The place is booming. Local sushi lovers pack themselves in like sardines to get some of this little spot's rock-inspired roll combinations, like the $9 Yellow Submarine, a combination of Pacific yellowtail, scallions, asparagus, and roe, or the Madonna: eel, avocado, asparagus, and roe drizzled with blond crepe and eel sauces. Fresh fish, crazy roll combinations, and a hard-core local following keep this place packed. And when it comes to sushi, that's exactly what you should be looking for: no day-old fish sitting around this spot.

How much advertising revenue did you get to write this unconscionable puff piece? Yolo's 'cuisine' is overpriced, uninspired crap. Sushi rock is awesome if you enjoy mediocre sushi in a glorified cafeteria with a $75 check for lunch. I could swing a cat and hit 10 better places on Las Olas. Please.

actually.......TO BE FAIR.........the landlords on LAS OLAS demand exhorbitant rents so UNLESS you're another SCOTT ROTHSTEIN playing with stolen money the real deal in foods is "OFF las olas" because the econcomics of supporting a five-star restaurant simply will not allow other than a losing proposition for the restaurant operator

so right off the bat the restaurant operator has to cheat the patron just to remain in business because the rents have to be paid even during the non-season and that basically is the ONE INGREDIENT fatal to any successful receipe

.........and i have a special WARNING for anyONE going to AMERICAL SOCIAL for "burgers" as they are MICROscopic .........and about one ounce each, yes you get three (3), so that makes a TOTAL of about three ounces.....TOTAL.......for $11 plus parking for $8.............so you are $19 ALL IN before ANY booze (and probably STILL HUNGRY)

maybe this article is really a SPOOF on the "best of LAS OLAS" and i missed the joke

certainly GRAN FORNO, CITY LIGHTS, MANGOs, et al ..................hey wait OKAY all you dummies.......... yeah, go to those 5 mentioned in this article............... (why should i divert the masses to the places i like and frequent only to be subsequently crowded OUT by these dummies)

why pick such a geographically restricted and compromised area having titled the article "........ON LAS OLAS........" ? ! ?

and all this according to whom ? YOU ?

well ZABARs for one says otherwise and common knowledge of the restaurant INDUSTRY shows CHEESECAKE sells more per square foot than ANY OTHER restaurant ..............as in 600 E Las Olas Blvd Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301 .................RIGHT SMACK in the middle of YOUR cluster of "bests"
