The Dubliner Fort Lauderdale Is Open (Photos)

Restaurants and bars open and close in downtown Fort Lauderdale all the time. And for the most part, nobody seems to mind. It's been a while since a new Himmarshee bar has seen any sort of hype.

Until the Dubliner Fort Lauderdale announced it was coming to town. Since Sub Culture Group announced the new spot to the public just over a month ago, it has received more than 2,000 Facebook likes. It opened this weekend for the crowds of St. Patty's Day, and we decided to check it out. Photos after the jump.

Just like the rest of the block, the Dubliner saw some pretty steady -- and fairly drunken -- St. Patty's Day crowds. The majority of the patrons packed themselves into the long bar area that once housed Side Bar. The space has been revamped to include a long bar with an I-beam standing overhead and wooden shelves displaying a large selection of whiskeys. Across from the bar sits a wooden wall of semi-enclosed booths. A small stage sits at the back of the room.
