Taco Bell Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Tacos Are Available: We Try Them

The product also translated into an out-of-the-ballpark hit for the fast food giant. USA Today reports that in less than one year, over 350 million Doritos Locos tacos were sold, making it the company's most successful item ever.
With that much success, you can bet the product developers at Taco Bell worked hard and long to develop another taco that would perform as strongly. They didn't have to look any farther than in the same supermarket snack aisle. Thus, we figure that's how the Cool Ranch Doritos Locos taco was born.
Though there have been rumors for months about the taco, made with a Cool Ranch Doritos shell, the product was soft-launched yesterday, March 6 via Facebook and Twitter announcements -- one day before the official launch. The social media-conscious company even provided a handy hashtag (#CoolRanchDLT) so fans could share pictures of the new taco.
Of course, there were some glitches to the roll-out. Apparently some Taco Bell restaurants didn't get the product or the memo that it was OK to sell these tacos a day before the official launch and Taco Bell found themselves tweeting an apology:
