What do an Olympic athlete, a basketball legend, and a star DJ have in common?

If you said meatballs, you win!

Actually, it's not just any meatball. It's Steve Martorano's meatballs that have been attracting celebrities from the sports and music world this week.

Earlier this week, Clean Plate Charlie reported that Olympic swimmer and reality show star Ryan Lochte dined at Cafe Martorano over the weekend. After we published the story, we received a text from the restaurateur himself, eluding to another celebrity sighting.

This morning, we confirmed that not only did Olympic champion and 22-time medal winner Michael Phelps dine at the restaurant, he was joined by celebrity DJ Steve Aoki.

And that's not all. Seated at the same time at a different table? Shaquille O'Neal! Here's what was on the menu:

Shaq and his party of four enjoyed fried chicken with mac and cheese and corn bread; a Philly cheese steak; Steve Martorano's famous meatball and salad; bucatini carbonara; veal Sinatra; and grouper. The seven-foot-tall O'Neal even found some room for dessert -- a slice of homemade red velvet cake.

Michael Phelps and Steve Aoki dined together with 15 of their closest friends. The group chowed down on shrimp scampi; calamari; homemade warm mozzarella; stuffed hot peppers; meatballs and salad; linguine and clams; fusilli pollo; NY strip steak with hot peppers; and chicken on the bone. For dessert? Martorano's homemade chocolate cake, of course.

We'd say that was a busy week, so far, for Martorano. But, somehow, we think it's all in a day's work for the beefy chef cook.
