The inaugural Riverside Market Home Brew Competition will take place Tuesday, March 19, allowing home brewers to showcase their best brews for prizes and kudos.
The throwdown starts at 7 p.m. at the Riverside Market Cafe, where home brewers will compete in categories including IPA, double IPA, stout, pale, amber, Belgian, tutti fruity, brown, malt beverage, people's choice, and judge's choice.
The competition will be moderated by a panel of local craft-beer enthusiasts, including Native Brewing's Adam Fine, Riverside Market's Julian Siegel, beer sommelier Brett Hubbard, and Eric Barton.
In addition, spectators can participate in the beer sampling -- and vote in the people's choice category -- for $10. The event is also open to the public to attend without sampling.
Home brewers can enter beer in up to five categories, and the entry fee is $25. Competition registration is available online.
