It's pretty much common knowledge that opening a new restaurant comes with a bunch of hiccups. It's rare for a newly built spot to actually open according to initial schedules. As is expected, that's part of the story of the newly opened Burt & Max's. The restaurant, which was originally slated to open on December 12, 2012, just opened its doors.

According to Partner Burt Rapoport, "There were some issues with construction of the center. The other part was dealing with the Palm Beach County Building Department. It was a long, arduous, frustrating process."

On Saturday, February 16, the restaurant finally opened to the public. "We're doing about half reservations and half walk-ins," says Rapoport, "I wanted to have some tables for the walk-ins. It's still getting up to an hour wait for a table. A lot of people have been hanging out at the bar and eating or sitting around the outside fire pit."
