Sarah Sipe is the new pastry chef at Sundy House.

The powers that be at Sundy House in Delray Beach are building a female-led kitchen. Florida native Sarah Sipe, 31, has been hired at the historic hotel as head pastry chef. She joins a team that includes executive chef and former Top Chef: Texas contestant Lindsay Autry.

Sipe is a Johnson & Wales graduate and has worked in South Florida for the last 10 years. Her credits include working with chef Frederic Monnet at the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne (where she eventually became assistant pastry chef) and stints as pastry chef for Michelle Bernstein at Michy's in Miami and The Omphoy Ocean Resort.

In a written statement, Sundy House general manager Bruce Siegel said Sipe's addition to the staff is "further enhancing our menu and experience for our guests." Among the creations Sipe has put out for the restaurant's popular (and pricey) Sunday brunch are sweet treats like a blood orange panna cotta, homemade raspberry marshmallows, chocolate cookies with sea salt, and tiramisu squares.

Autry and Sipe previously worked together at Bernstein's restaurants.
