You know you want some
Being that Florida is one massive peninsula, seafood is kind of a big thing. If you can't eat it or chose not to, we feel sorry for you. For seafood aficionados, or  anyone who likes a festival, we have an event for you: the Riverwalk Stone Crab and Seafood Festival.

The second annual Riverwalk Stone Crab Festival is being held on January 12, at downtown Fort Lauderdale's Esplanade Park--last year it was held on the lawn of the Riverside Hotel. Although the location has changed, the overall event will be similar: live music, family friendly entertainment, and obviously, seafood.

Ten to 15 restaurants will be participating and each will feature at least one dish for under five bucks--more temptation to push you away from that healthy New Year's resolution. Expect to see all kinds of seafood ranging from different ceviches to good old-fashioned Florida stone crabs. Bimini Boatyard, Bravo Ristorante, Downtowner Saloon, Grille 401, Indigo Room, Kelly's Landing, Key West Seafood, Lauderdale Grill, Nacho Bizness, OB House, Southport Raw Bar, Tarpon Bend, will be preparing food. Grille 401 will be setting up a number out outdoor bars to further influence those overindulgent eating, drinking, and spending habits you swore you do away with this year.

To keep the littles occupied while you stuff your face, the festival will feature a waitress competition -- last year they had to run with an egg on a spoon -- a cakewalk, and the very entertaining hermit crab race.

The festival starts at 11:00am and ends at 5:00pm on Saturday, January 12.
