The $400-a-plate event, part of the New York City Wine & Food Festival, was hosted by Mario Batali and Willie Geist. Celebrity chefs Rachael Ray, Eric Ripert, and Guy Fieri turned up for a chance to participate in an evening that could very well be subtitled "karma is a bitch".
This morning, Tony was on the Today show, where co-hosts Willie Geist and Savannah Guthrie asked how the experience was for him. "Like a prolonged and painful medical procedure", replied the author, television host, producer, and chef.
Who, by the way, landed the most hits with their verbal missiles of abuse? If you were guessing Rachael Ray or Guy Fieri, celebrity chefs who are frequent Bourdain targets, you'd be wrong. The most caustic arrows were slung by comedian Bonnie MacFarlane. Earlier this morning, Bourdain tweeted the following:
