Five South Florida Food-Related Events This Weekend: Las Olas Oktoberfest and More
Courtesy photo This is why everyone loves Oktoberfest.
Dirndls are being carefully laced up. Steins are being chilled. Pumpkin patches are...doing whatever it is a pumpkin patch does to prepare. Fall is here, for reals, and the event calendar in South Florida this weekend reflects that. From Oktoberfest to fall harvest, Broward and Palm Beach counties are all about autumn this weekend. Find five food- and drink-related activities after the jump.
1. Street Food Rumble
More than 40 food trucks will roll in and throw down at the Street Food Rumble from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday in the west parking lot of the Seminole Casino in Coconut Creek. Read all about the Street Food Rumble and decide who you'll be hitting up (and rooting for) on Saturday.
2. Las Olas Oktoberfest
Exploring cultural attractions in town this weekend needn't preclude drinking brews with busty ladies. The first-ever Las Olas Oktoberfest is as good an excuse as any to imbibe German beers and platters of salty meats while admiring the wonders of lederhosen and dirndls. The three-day festival is 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday. There's no cost to attend, but you'll of course have to pay for beer and food. Find more details about Las Olas Oktoberfest here. The event is hosted at the Riverside Hotel in downtown Fort Lauderdale.
