Meet the real-life Copa girls on Friday, September 14.

This week's news includes an opening date for a mega-hyped, large-scale project as well as a few changes in smaller operations around town. Opening date set for Copacabana Supper Club in Fort Lauderdale
Break out your upscale tropical wear -- the Copacabana Supper Club has an official opening date on the books: Friday, September 14. This surpasses the projected opening date (September 20) given when Clean Plate Charlie first met with the Copa team back in July. (Click here to see photos from that behind-the-scenes tour.) The 12,000-square-foot space will host Tomasito Cruz & Cuban Timba All Stars on Friday night of opening weekend and Jose Alberto "El Canario" on Saturday night. The opening weekend also includes the introduction of "corporate happy hour" early evening on Friday.

New lunch option in Mizner Park
Starting Monday, October 1, Kapow! Noodle Bar in Mizner Park in Boca Raton will add lunch hours to its schedule. The bar/restaurant currently opens daily at 4 p.m. Details on the lunch menu and pricing to come.

Mother Earth Coffee and Gifts will be closed next week
The popular Lake Worth coffeehouse will be temporarily unavailable next week while owner Patti Lucia takes a few days to "freshen up" the place with several coats of paint, then relaxes with a minivacation. Mother Earth -- and its wicked brew -- will return the third week of September.
