Pairings is September 13: We Have More Tickets to Give Away

Categories: Pairings
Pairings Logo FINAL.jpg

Another week, another pair of tickets to give away. New Times annual wine and food event Pairings is coming up fast on Thursday, September 13 at the Broward County Convention Center.

Last week we gave away two pairs of passes to two artistically inclined readers. We had a lot of fun judging the many submissions, but this week we thought we'd make things a little less challenging while giving you the opportunity to provide us with some feedback.

This week all we are asking you to do is like Clean Plate Charlie on Facebook and leave a comment. If you already like us, you're halfway there.

You can leave your comment either here on the blog or on Facebook. Let us know what kinds of food news you'd like to see us cover. Do you want to see more celebrity news? More local news? Restaurant reviews? Food events? Something we haven't even thought of yet? Do you know of a local place that we don't? Or maybe you love what we do and would like to just say, "Good jobs, guys." (Everyone could use a little encouragement now and then.)

Say whatever you'd like to say and we will put your name into our figurative hat to be randomly chosen for a pair of general admission Pairings passes. The winner will be announced this Friday.

Visit the official Pairings page for more information. General admission is $50 online (until noon September 13) or $60 at the door (or free if you win!). A VIP pass is $90 online or $100 at the door gets you in an hour early, a larger wine glass for gratuitous sampling, and admission to the VIP lounge where you'll find comfortable seating and some specially selected food and wine pairings.

I echo the sentiments below, I'd like to see more coverage in West Broward: Sunrise, Plantation, etc.I recently discovered a sizable Asian market in Sunrise called "New York Mart".A beginner's guide to Asian produce might be a cool feature.

Restaurant review and unique food found around town. I read almost everyday and enjoy all the articles.

More restaurant reviews and news around town. Highlight hidden out of the way restaurants, funky places that only locals go to. More ethnic restaurants. Farm to table restaurants. Best Sunday brunch spots. Who offers vegetarian options. More giveaways are a nice perk :)

I'd really like it if you guys spent more time on the western side of Broward. Sunrise has a ton of great ethnic restaurants, Davie and Coral Springs have some nice places for wine, and there's lots of other hidden gems. Ft Lauderdale definitely has more upscale restaurants, but it'd be great to have a better list of hidden gems on the Western side for everyday dining. Thanks.

We want more articles about the fringe side of food, like 'is offal awful?'. Great job with the blog!

I love the blog. I check it every day to stay up to date with what's happening. Some more giveaways an or news on deals would be nice but I can't complain or say its necessary. Maybe some more good lunch spots

You can never have enough restaurant reviews!! With so many restaurants to choose from it's always reassuring to read good reviews prior to giving it a shot. Nothing worse than a bad meal in a beautiful (and expensive) restaurant.

Cool places for lunch and/or lunch deals are always on my radar! Places like 11Th Street Annex or Ambry Restaurant for coolness or Taqueria Y Antojitos El Guanaco or Gyroville for good lunch specials.

These are all great suggestions. We really want to know what you want to read about. Keep 'em coming and thanks!

I would like reviews on craft beer places from Palm Beach County to Dade County! Hard to find varieties, not the ones that are available in every grocery store or every chain restaurant.

No need for tickets (already bought mine!) but I'd love to see you guys cover less trendy stuff. I love down-to-earth, authentic places like Thousand Pound Egg near the beach, Marando Farms downtown, and I'm always looking for new authentic ethnic restaurants that don't follow the trend of every other sushi/thai/Indian place that's overhyped. More local markets/shops for obscure or imported food items!

Hi  @albano  -- I can't link to it here, but we did an advance story on Red Sauce, including some interior shots of the space. If you search for the name, you can check out our coverage.
