July's Restaurant Openings and Closings in Broward and Palm Beach Counties

Royal Pig Pub & Kitchen opened on Tuesday.
The economy may continue to circle the drain, but that doesn't mean the restaurant scene in South Florida has stagnated. July saw the openings of restaurants from Lake Worth to Pembroke Pines and everywhere in between, from fine dining (Italian Red Sauce and Stephane's) to quick hits (Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and E&J's Sandwich Shop). Still waiting to see progress on the supposed "Coming in 2012" Gary Racks on the Ave in Delray Beach (just below Linda Bean's and across from Salt and Park Tavern).

 

The sign's been up for months since the VFW moved out. But a peek in this morning shows zero progress - still looks like the VFW just packed up...

@ChazDelray From Gary Rack's team: 

"Rest assured, though there seems to be no noticeable progress, internally, we are nearly ready to pull the trigger. Demolition begins either this week or next. The estimated opening is 2012, exact date to be determined."
