Gluten-Free Fair at Whole Foods Plantation
There are other reasons to eat gluten-free. Eating gluten-free can lead to weight-loss, more energy, and less bloating. While there are many benefits to adapting to a gluten-free lifestyle, the problem is that many everyday foods we all love contain gluten including pastas, breads, beer, cereals, imitation meats and seafood, sauces, and marinades. Even communion wafers contain gluten. So what's left to eat?
Fortunately, there are some delicious gluten-free alternatives. You just have to look. Whole Foods Market in Plantation is hosting a gluten-free Fair this Saturday, July 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring product samples, cooking demonstrations, and giveaways.
The first 100 customers will receive goodie bags stuffed with gluten-free items, and a raffle for a basket filled with gluten-free products and a gift card will be held. DJ Nightbloom will provide music, and Tap 42's executive chef, David Peck, will hole a cooking demonstration in the cafe.
Other activities include a special presentation by Savanna Key, author of Gluten & The Autistic Tummy, and guided store tours will be offered. Admission is free, but pre-registration is required for the store tours. Call 954-236-0600 to sign up.
