The small space is the latest from South Florida restaurateur Burt Rapoport of Rapoport's Restaurant Group (Henry's and Bogart's Bar and Grille). The dine-in/take-out joint -- which has outdoor seating for 30 -- is a stone's throw from Rapoport's waterfront restaurant, Deck 84, which will supply the casual joint with fresh-baked pastries. E&J's takes its name from the Deck 84 crew which also will manage the new spot; general manager Eric Clark and chef Jon Greening.
The new restaurant will open daily at 8 a.m. for breakfast, with $4 to $6 choices like egg sandwiches, oatmeal, and yogurt and granola. Lunch and dinner options (priced $6 to $12) include sandwiches, hoagies, and wraps, like sausage and peppers, the French dip, Italian, B.L.T., cheesesteak, and kosher bologna. The sandwich bread will be brought in from Old School Bakery in Delray Beach. E&J's be open until 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and remain open until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
