Best Pizza: Tucci's Fire N Coal Pizza Embraced by Readers and Judges Alike

Tricia Woolfenden
The char is the flavor.
As noted in the Best Pizza 2012 item that went live this week, naming a best pizza place is "like kicking the hornet's nest." Nine times out of ten, the "who has the best pizza?" discussion will devolve into a heated debate and will likely include at least one mention of South Florida's (and the rest of the country's) inherent inferiority to New York in every
way. The fact that Tucci's Fire N Coal Pizza in Boca Raton scored big this year with both readers and the New Times' staff is really saying something about the crowd-pleasing pies.

When looking at who deserved this all-important title (and there was some stiff competition), consistency played a significant role. It's one thing to be good most of the time, but the fact that Tucci's has yet to turn out a middling pie for any of the NT staff involved in the discussion was one of the contributing factors in the restaurant's success in this year's Best Of issue.

Like many restaurants in Palm Beach and Broward counties, Tucci's will celebrate Father's Day with a dadcentric special. Fathers will get one free beer or soda with any order on Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday. You don't need to print out a coupon; just tell your server you saw the promo on Tucci's Facebook page here

Should call this the best of advertisers.  Tucci's? This place is terrible, frozen dough.

I agree with this place having great pizza. I wished I could try all of the nominees though.
