A $5 green tea sake mojito.
The hunt for happy hour is a never-ending quest for any value-conscious booze hound. This is especially true for anyone hoping for a happy hour menu with more interesting choices than Miller Lite and onion rings. Last week's journey led my friend and me to the doors of Fusionarie Japanese Signature in Boca Raton's Royal Palm Place. This stylish restaurant has performed well with its dinner service (the rolls come highly recommended, particularly the mango roll) but the under-advertised happy hour deserves a little bump.

The lucky shishito peppers.
Special pricing runs 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and when my friend and I dropped in on a recent Wednesday evening, the place was quiet as can be. My guess would be that people simply don't know the restaurant is offering a weekday happy hour or haven't yet stumbled upon the restaurant at all, as the prices are certainly reasonable enough to warrant a better crowd. Selected drinks are $3 (Sapporo, Kirin) to $6 (plum wine or nigori). My friend got a huge pour of cold sake for $5, while I sipped on the $5 green tea sake mojito.

A handful of the restaurant's appetizers are included on the happy hour menu, like edamame ($3) and pot stickers ($4 to $6). The restaurant's tasty take on shishito peppers ($4) also are available.

The value-priced goods are in place and the space looks great (the outdoor patio is a comfortable spot, even if the sun was blasting us as it set over Federal Highway) -- the only thing missing at this point is the post-work stampede.
