31. Sunrise Roll from Sasaya Japanese Market

Choosing a sushi roll can be likened to the troublesome Almond Joy versus Mounds conundrum -- sometimes you feel like a totally bastardized roll with cream cheese and
deep-fried imitation crab and sometimes, hopefully most times, you don't. Sasaya Japanese Market's Sunrise Roll is best reserved for days like the latter, when you want to skip the fluff and go for the good stuff -- veggies, seaweed, fish, and rice.

The Sunrise Roll's blush-colored tuna, coral salmon, electric orange masago (Capelin roe), fuschia Shibazuke (a mixture of pickled cucumber and eggplant), and fresh cucumber creates a kaleidoscope of colors and textures will put that last McSushi roll you ate to shame.

The bad news? Though Sasaya is open Monday to Saturday, the market's sushi bar isn't open on Mondays.

The good news? You can score a Sunrise roll for $6.50 and still afford to get that Dynamite roll that you had your eye on.
