For the first time, the chain, which has several stores in Miami, is expanding north to Broward County. The first 100 Montaditos in Broward county opens today at Pembroke Lakes Square with another restaurant being planned for Plantation.
The menu takes a cue from the name of the restaurant, offering 100 different types of montiditos, attractively priced from $1 - $3 each. One dollar montaditos offered include serrano ham, smoked salmon, blue cheese, or peanut butter and strawberry jam.
Montaditos for $1.50 include several roast beef and tuna options, as well as grilled chicken, grilled ham, and guava and cream cheese.
Two dollars gets you slider-like burgers and hot dogs, while big spenders can up the ante with $3 duck mousse or BLT sandwiches.
Beers and wine are also good values at this budget-friendly restaurant, with bottles of beer and small drafts offered at $3. Wines and larger draft beers are $3.50. That's a lot of food and drink to buy with the ten dollar bill you found cleaning out your car.
