Red the Steakhouse, Rosso Italia: Boca Raton Gets Two New Restaurants

Boca Raton diners are about to be hit up with two new restaurants this week when Red the Steakhouse and Rosso Italia open. Both restaurants are owned by Cleveland-based Red Restaurant Group.

Successful South Beach restaurant Red the Steakhouse, which also has a Cleveland location, opens its newest dining room in Boca Raton tonight, April 10.

Executive chef Peter Vauthy will oversee the kitchen, which serves only certified Angus beef prime, the highest USDA beef grade available.

Vauthy is known for being meticulous in his selection of ingredients, going so far as to hold informational sessions for both kitchen and front-of-the-house staff on the sources for the restaurants meats and seafood.

Red's dining room, decorated in shades of mahogany and (what else?) reds, is a sophisticated mix of traditional steak-house décor with modern lines. The restaurant is equally inviting for both power dinners and date night bites.

Rosso Italia, the 220-seat next-door neighbor to Red the Steakhouse, will open on Thursday, April 12. The first Italian concept restaurant for the Red Restaurant Group, Rosso Italia will serve simple, signature, Italian-inspired cuisine spearheaded by executive chef Jonathan Bennett. 

Dishes include hand-made pastas, brick-oven pizzas, and grilled meats and seafood. An additional menu section offers an array of hand-picked imported meats and cheeses.

The food there sucks. We ordered meatballs and they were under cooked, the broccoli had too much lemon juice, the lamb was rare and we ordered it medium, the pizza is wet and impossible to eat, very dissapointed! We will not go back there for sure!


Me and my wide dined at RED steakhouse  Boca Raton. My server Brian was the best server I have had in many years. He told us about the chef selections , and advised us to try many of the items true to his heart that was awsome. I was very happy and excited about the menue and the way the sever was knowlegeable and suggested the right  entrees cooked to perfection. I have to say that my waiter was so prompt and never let our drinks get low at anytime. He was not at any point being fake or trying to be purtuisive, just a wonderfull professional  waiter we have seeked for a long time. The food and atmosphere was very sheek. I am going to reccomend this place to all of my friends.... 5 star if you ask me..I loved the service and quality so much . Cannot wait to return..


Have dined at Red in Miami several times, we weren't in the mood for steak so we tried Rosso Italia for dinner last night.  The decor is modern and beautiful.  The food was outstanding, light, fresh and delicious.  I especially loved that they had no issues adapting the dishes to meet dietary restrictions.  Before we left the restaurant we made reservations for Red.


Peter Vauthy is by far the Prince of beef! Best steak you will ever have!
