Newly Opened Pinche Taqueria in Wilton Manors Is Gearing Up for Cinco de Mayo

Fish tacos are a specialty at Pinche Taqueria. And they go well with beer.

The countdown is on for Cinco de Mayo at Pinche Taqueria, a taco and burrito joint that opened in early February in Wilton Manors. Though the holiday is several weeks away, the new restaurant -- which has two locations in New York City -- is gearing up now for the event, lining up nearly a week's worth of festivities, including DJs and mariachi bands.

"It will be a big party on Cinco de Mayo," owner Stephanie Lee said.

Business has been steady thus far at the new spot, according to Lee, who said, "We've got an active dinner crowd." She said the Wilton Manors location differs from the two New York City restaurants primarily in that it's a larger space with more seating and full service. It also has a 30-foot bartop, part of which extends into an outside area.

Fish tacos, elote (grilled corn on the cob slathered in Mexican mayo, chili powder, and cotija cheese), and burritos are the biggest sellers on the menu, and the skinny margarita is the signature drink. Tuesdays feature specials on tacos and tequila with $2 tacos, and Sundays include specials on brunchy drinks like mimosas and bloody marys.
