Lake Worth Food News: Second Tacos Al Carbon Location, New Pizza Joint, Free Frozen Yogurt
![]() |
1.) Tacos Al Carbon opened another taco shop at Sixth Avenue South and Congress. The menu offers the same as the original location, with more seafood specials and entrées.
Take note: The shop offers abbreviated hours, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. (compared to around-the-clock service from its sibling). It's the third restaurant and second taco shop owned by Eloise and Hugo Gonzalez, the third of which is T.A.C. Pizzeria at 7110 S. Military Trail in Lake Worth.
2) Craig from Worst Pizza gives us the heads-up on his new favorite pizza place in Lake Worth, Esposito's, a branch of the same shop from Davie, and Grande Pizza in Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, and Plantation.
Owned by Joe and Sal Esposito, it's a takeover of the former Corelino's at 6346 Lantana Road. "We're giving it a face-lift to improve the food and atmosphere here," says Joe. "We are having to do quite a few upgrades." The space seats 100 outside and 50 inside. In addition to New York-style pizza, this location offers specials such as lobster ravioli and veal chops. There's also a full bar. Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
3) Menchie's will celebrate its grand opening tomorrow with free frozen yogurt from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its new Lake Worth location, at 6169 Jog Road. Giveaways are scheduled throughout the weekend. It's Menchie's number 32 to open in Florida, the pay-by-weight chain with 100 flavors and a zillion mix-ins.
