Flavors of Wellington, Local Beer Dinner at Howley's, and Other Food and Drink Events this Week in South Florida

Food-truck invasion in Hollywood -- More than two dozen trucks -- including Sugar Yummy Mama, The Rolling Stove, and Che Grill -- will roll into Arts Park at Young Circle in downtown Hollywood from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. No admission charge, but bring cash for the trucks.
Local beer dinner at Howley's -- Howley's in West Palm Beach will host a five-course local beer night with Florida brews like Holy Mackerel Golden Ale and Jai Alai IPA matched with dishes like a radicchio wedge with caramelized onions and garlic crusinti and a prosciutto and hop pesto pizza. Vegetarian options are available for every course, provided you give the restaurant a head's up at the time of reservation. The dinner is 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. The cost is $40 per seat. High-octane tap takeover -- World of Beer in Wellington will hand some of their taps over to beers with a high alcohol content from 7 to 9 p.m. Selections include Bell's Hopslam, Great Divide Old Ruffian, and Terrapin Wake-n-Bake.
West Palm Beach bus loop -- The bus loop concept that's become so popular in Fort Lauderdale and Delray Beach has expanded to West Palm Beach. The loop will connect between Clematis Street, CityPlace, and Palm Beach Island. The cost is $20 in advance and includes a free drink at each participating bar. Proceeds benefit various non-profit entities. The cost is $25 at the door. The loop runs 6 to 11 p.m.
Flavors of Wellington -- This wine and food tasting event is 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington. Local restaurants and vendors will offer small bites and various wines. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. VIP tables are $300. Call 561-792-6525, or purchase online.
Fort Lauderdale bus loop -- Get a ticket to join the bus loop and receive a free drink at participating bars and enjoy a safe ride about town. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. The loop is 6 to 11 p.m.
Red Bull Candola -- Slam a few cans of energy drink and watch the "gondoliers" take to the New River in their homemade boats, attempting to row the .33 miles between Huizenga Plaza and Esplanade Park in the Red Bull Candola. The People's Choice Award is decided between 9 and 10:30 a.m. and the race begins at 11 a.m.
Wine and cheese pairing class -- The Virginia Philip Wine Shop & Academy in West Palm Beach will host a "regional cheese with regional wine" class from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The cost is $35 per person and the class includes an analysis of four cheese and wine pairings.
