49. Avocado Mousse Croissant from Caffé Martier

Food is always better with a little entertainment, especially when that entertainment comes in the form of shameless people-watching. It's no secret that by night, Delray's popular Atlantic Avenue is a voyeur's dream. Night after night, the popular strip is positively teeming with an odd but delightful combination of bleached-blond, tanorexic eye candy and well-heeled silver foxes. Though there is plenty to look at at night, don't be fooled by the up-to-there minis and garish paisley shirts; the real magic happens during the day at Caffé Martier.

Caffé Martier's Avocado Mousse Croissant is a buttery croissant topped with a tomato and mozzarella omelet that is crowned with a dollop of decadent avocado mousse. Breakfast's ubiquitous "home fries" have been swapped for a verdant heap of leafy greens that have been drizzled with extra-virgin olive oil and sprinkled with a bit of salt.

Sit outside the café with a cappuccino (or better yet, a glass of Cabernet) and enjoy the view of confused tourists, crazy townies, and bleary-eyed walk-of-shamers as they slowly stumble their way down the sun-dappled strip. Avocado mousse, drinking, and secretly judging others? Your typical weekend breakfast just got an upgrade.
