Biergarten Boca Raton Introduces New German Brunch This Sunday, April 1
| Beer: It's what's for breakfast. |
The brunch is 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with seats available on a first-come, first-served basis. Perner said it will be something of a mini-Oktoberfest (perhaps making it the ideal brunch destination for post-New Times Beerfest revelers who want to keep riding that beer wave).
In addition to offering regular menu items, Biergarten will have a few brunch specials available, including a German pancake (Perner refers to it as the German equivalent of French toast), eggs Benedict with veal sauce, and a take on a farmer's special with a cold-cut board, sausages, pickles, and horseradish.
For entertainment, Biergarten will host Orlando-based German oom-pah band Alpine Express. Perner also will lead a few traditional alcohol-related games, like selecting members of the audience to hold a liter of beer at arm's length for as long as possible. This harder-than-it-sounds challenge often nets amusing results, Perner said, adding that winners will get a $50 gift certificate to Biergarten.
Based on initial feedback, Perner expects Sunday's brunch to be well attended, and if it's a success, he'd like to make it a regular activity, held the first Sunday of every month.
