|Guzzle some mojitos in the moonlight. |
The full moon isn't only about your pets -- or neighbors -- acting out in new and creative ways, it's also an excuse to hang out oceanside with pretty people and boozy drinks via the monthly full moon party at The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale. The theme for tonight's party is "Havana night" with Cuban-inspired food and beverage, domino tables, and cigar rollers.
The drink menu for the evening includes: the Cuba libre, coladito (Malibu coconut, cola, and a splash of pineapple juice), Hemingway's cosmo (Malibu coconut, Absolut Citron, cranberry, and grapefruit juice), cohiba punch (Malibu coconut, Malibu passion fruit, Malibu mango, and sour mix), a Havana cooler, and a mojito cubano. The bar bites menu ($10 to $14 each) includes a few finger foods like a chorizo empanada, black bean hummus and dippers, crispy yuca sticks, chicken and cheese quesadillas, and chips and salsa.
The party is 7 to 10 tonight. There's no cover charge to get into the party, but the drinks are gonna cost ya $8 each. If you have any dry-cleaned, modern prom wear that's in good shape, bring it along to donate to Becca's Closet
, an organization that hooks up high school students in need with clothes they can wear to the formal dance. The hosts will treat you to a free cocktail if you do.
Valet parking for the event is $7. In case the actual moon itself is of interest to you, there will be telescopes available to watch the moon rise. The next party is April 5.
