Free Screening of "Forks Over Knives" & Post-Movie Reception Wednesday Night at Cinema Paradiso

In case you haven't yet had your love of Cheetos and Slim Jims sullied by the "ethical dining" documentary industry, here's your chance. The Multiple Sclerosis Foundation will host a free screening of last year's documentary "Forks Over Knives" Wednesday night at Cinema Paradiso in Fort Lauderdale.
The film will screen from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. For those who haven't yet caught the documentary on streaming Netflix, the film examines the conundrum of why, even as Americans have access to the most advanced medical technology in the world, we are facing a significant national health crisis. The film argues that our nation's love of processed foods and animal products is driving us to an early grave, while offering solutions for a more healthy lifestyle. Following the screening, stick around for a gratis reception from 7:30 to 10 p.m. with wine and small bites from Whole Foods Market and smoothies from Juicy Smoothie. Charles Mattocks, otherwise known as "The Poor Chef," will perform food demos with tips on how to eat well on a low budget. The reception previously carried an admission charge which has been dropped as donations and local sponsorship came in. All funds raised from the event -- via raffles and donations -- will go to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
