69. Walking Taco From Tropical Taco
"This taco shop claims to be the best taco in town," said a coworker when she directed me to Facebook link to Tropical Taco. I've been several times since the inaugural visit, charmed by the characters, more animated as a night wears on.
There is nothing elegant about this taco in a bag, a concoction of Fritos, salsa, ground beef, lettuce, cheese, onions, cilantro and sour cream we tried earlier this winter. It's the midwest meets Ortega. It's a redneck guilty pleasure and one that requires a sense of humor or extreme hunger to appreciate. Like pizza by the slice or a trip to Floridian late night, it's tasty fuel for when you're drunk.
Speaking of, it's five o'clock. It's time.
