|Not a Yankees fan? You're still invited to the table. |
If you're still riding high on NY pride after the Giants' big victory in Sunday's Super Bowl, you may want to give a look at the newest steak house to hit Broward County. The recently unveiled $150 million expansion of Seminole Casino in Coconut Creek includes the first Florida location of high-end steak house NYY Steak.
Tapping into South Florida's strong contingency of die-hard Yankees fans, the New York based enterprise is rife with nods to the beloved/maligned team
. The Florida locale trumps the original NYY -- located in Yankee Stadium in the Bronx -- in size, but adheres to the same baseball motif of the original.
The menu is anchored by sizable USDA prime steaks and chops: there's a 28 oz. porterhouse, two cuts of filet mignon, and a New York strip, as well as dry-aged lamb chops, long bone ribeye and chopped steak. There also is a strong showing of seafood with familiar choices like surf and turf and king crab on the menu, plus a raw bar and appetizers like oysters Rockefeller and lobster bisque.
NYY Steak is open for dinner 5 to 11 p.m. Thursday through Monday. The lounge area of the restaurant will stay open until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. Stay tuned to Clean Plate Charlie in the coming week for first impressions of this new addition to the Broward dining scene.
