Food Town Throwdown: Vote Early and Vote Often (Results So Far)

If you think the pinnacle of games is this Sunday, then maybe you haven't heard about Clean Plate Charlie's Food Town Throwdown.

Clean Plate Charlie is talking smack and taking names -- pitting our favorite food neighborhoods against each other in a raging death match of wits and eats.  OK - maybe not death match, but there are bragging rights to be had.

We know that there are some amazing neighborhoods in which to get your favorite eats in south Florida. That's why we live here and not Wasilla, Alaska (though we hear the halibut is fresh and the view of Russia is spectacular).  But which neighborhood reigns supreme?  That's where you come in, oh constant reader.

We're giving you the voting breakdown, so far. Remember - unlike football, there are no referees and no penalties for fighting dirty. Post on Facebook, call your local Chamber of Commerce, stuff the (virtual) ballot box. We're fine with that.  Remember, we're Florida, the home of the hanging chad (whatever that means).  Voting results so far, after the jump:

Delray Beach vs. Pompano/Deerfield
The fantastic tacos from  El Jefe Luchador and craft beer from Brother Tuckers of Pompano/Deerfield aren't cutting it when compared to the slick (and quirky) scene of Delray Beach, home to favorites like Dada for a crafty, ever-changing menu and  The Office for upscale brew pub dining.

Voting results so far:

Delray Beach: 77.38%
Pompano/Deerfield: 22.62%

There's still time to vote here.

West Palm Beach/Lake Worth vs. Wilton Manors
The after-work crowd enjoying a meal at Brewwzi or Cheesecake Factory at CityPlace's outdoor mall and too-many tequilas at Rocco's Tacos and Tequila Bar in West Palm Beach are speaking up over the award winning burgers at Georgie's Alibi and French fare at the quaint Le Patio in Wilton Manors.

Voting Results so far:

West Palm Beach/Lake Worth: 59.38%
Wilton Manors: 40.63%

There's still time to vote here.

Western Broward vs. Hollywood

Lower rents are driving a food scene in Western Broward and you're liking it. Small ethnic gems like Myung Ga in Weston, and Marumi Sushi in Sunrise are causing voters to turn out against the old-Florida funky vibe of Hollywood's PRL Euro Cafe and Le Tub.

Voting Results so far:
Western Broward: 58.33%
Hollywood: 41.67%

There's still time to vote here.

Boca Raton vs. Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale's beaches and canals bring tanned bodies to Coconuts  for fish dip and a beer and yacht enthusiasts to 3030 Ocean for farm-to-table freshness. Boca, besides bagels, give us Kapow! Noodle Bar.  The FTL is kicking Boca's condo-loving butt.

Voting Results so far:
Boca Raton: 28.57%
Fort Lauderdale: 71.43%

There's still time to vote here.
