South Beach Wine and Food Festival 2012 is a few weeks away: the Nascar of foodie weekends. Though hot tickets are sold out, there's a slew of events with tickets available. Perhaps a local chef's attendance might convince you to splurge.

Lauren DeShields from Market 17 joins New York's David Burke for The New York Times Dinner Series' Dining in the Dark on Thursday, February 23 at The Gansevoort Miami Beach. Sold out.

Angelo Elia from Casa D'Angelo pairs Italian cuisine with 90 point wines along with a slew of chefs at Wine Spectator's "Best of the Best" on Friday, February 24 from at Fontainebleau Miami Beach. $350 tickets.

Chef Dean Max from 3030 Ocean will cook for The American Express Grand Tasting Village on Saturday and Sunday, February 25 and 26 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on 13th Street and Ocean Drive. $225 tickets.
