• couldn't agree more. I eat at Tarpon Bend at least once a week, Rok twice a month and have given up on PL8 since its sucks, but to name these along with actual restaurants like 3030 Ocean, STeak 954, Canyon and Lola's makes Broward come off as a redneck riviera. Seriously, this defines us to all the tourists and visitors that we count on for a sustained local economy. To even consider a raw bar or burger stand as best restaurant really cheapens Broward

• Lately New Times has lowered the journalism bar with posts such as "Vote for Best Restaurant" or "Vote for Best Beer", etc. Isn't Village Voice Media expecting more cutting edge work from you guys?

• Hott Leggz Has been around since june , They have some the best very very different seafood Boils, such as Buffalo, Lemon Lime, Coconut island, and Honey Bourbon, you are and to scallops, King Crab, Shrimp, and snow crab in these Boils(amazing)along with the Best 10oz burger in Lauderdale I encourage you all to look them up, Hott Leggz 2471 e Commercial Blvd 954-771-5151

• Couldn't agree more. Just makes them look like morons. Some great restaurants on the list; market 17, canyon, etc. not a fan of Martarano though. Lots of hype and overpriced crappy meatballs.

• You have some restaurants that don't belong on this list in the same category as Casa Del Angelo - how can you even compare? Seriously? Casa Del Angelo, Canyon, and Matarono's totally different level than some of the others on the list. How arbitrary is that? How much in advertising are these people paying the new times?

• No I don't work for rok:brgr. Why is this strange? Martorano's went from 300 to 1500 overnight because of the power of social media.  Steve went on facebook and told all of his fans to vote. Which they did. He also has a large fan base and following.

• I like Gilbert's. The staff there is fantastic, and the concept is a crowd pleaser. But I don't think an order-at-the-counter place can end up on a list for Best Restaurant. But Gilbert's is in contention for Best Burger.

• How could you not include Gilbert's 17th Street Grill as best restaurant Broward. They are only rated #1 on Trip Advisor for Best Restaurant in Fort Lauderdale. I eat dinner there every Friday night, I think that say enough!!!

• Rok Brgr?  Really - I have tried almost every restaurant in Broward County and I would rate Rok Burger as mediocre at best.  I sat at the bar last time we ate there and the bartender acted like we were bothering her. The burgers were not cooked to order and the bun was like a wet mop from the grease.  But hey, what do I know?

• This is a vote for the BEST RESTAURANT in Fort Lauderdale - not the best place to get drunk. Grateful Palate is serving better and more interesting food than any of the others on this list. Period.

• Wow, this is strange. I friend of mine voted a couple of hours ago and tried to talk me out of voting for Canyon because as she said, they already have a bunch of votes but Rok Burger only has 18. Imagine my surprise now that I was able to cast my vote for Canyon and Rok Burger has over 640???!!! How is that even possible in only a couple of hours??

• Rok Brg has the best hamburgers I have ever tasted, not to mention the best rum cake and the staff are polite, courteous and helpful. I travel a lot and I eat in a lot of restaurants and I can tell you I enjoy their food and commaraderie. Best of luck, Marc. You should win hands down.

• Good suggestions, Toni. They've been added. And for Rok Brgr, we added to this list restaurants that have previously won Best Restaurant or Best New Restaurant, which Rok Brgr won last year.

• I guess none of you have been to PL8...it is really a different kind of eatery.  Give it a try, you might change your mind.  They change there menu often, but if they can, they will make you something that you tried there before.
