Eat a bread a good cause.
It's the middle of winter in South Florida, and while people from northern climes are flocking to our beaches, Floridians are breaking out the boots and bundling up in sweaters.

Some may say that we're namby-pambies who pull out the mittens when the thermometer reads below 75 degrees, but that's fine, because that also means it's soup season. And soup tastes doubly good when we're sipping it for a good cause. In that spirit, we're celebrating SouperBowl!

From today, January 31, through Tuesday, February 7, Panera Bread locations in Broward and Palm Beach counties will donate $1 for every bowl of soup purchased (does not include soup purchased in a pick-two combo) to the Pap Corps, a volunteer organization that supports research at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, South Florida's only university-based cancer center.

Since its inception in 1952, the Pap Corps has raised $39 million, more than $29 million in the past ten years.

you know, i am happy Panera Bread is doing this, because i donate to charities as much as possible, but business's who make you buy something before they donate , while is good, still does not sit 100% with me, i would rather read--PANERA BREAD DONATES $100,000 TO PAPS CORP, that would actually make me want to give them my business more than, if you give us money, i will THEN give a charity money!! just one mans opinion...

Ted, I agree somewhat...but it's usually the charity - that offers some way of getting additional funds by partnering up with a company..Like Macy's and Barnes & Noble donates $1 for every shopper that mentions a local school on certain days.  Better than nothing, is what I say.
