Beer is what's for dinner at PL8 Kitchen this Monday.
As South Florida explores its taste for craft beer and gourmet brew tastings, we're seeing more opportunities for local lessons in how an ale or a stout can complement a steak or cheese plate just as well as a bottle of vino could.

On that topic, this coming Monday, PL8 Kitchen in Fort Lauderdale will host a four-course beer dinner. The menu was created by chef Joel Christy who recently took control of the kitchen at the Himmarshee restaurant and bar.

The menu for the evening features four courses with dishes like blackened duck springrolls and a grilled skirt steak crostini with chocolate mole, and each is paired with an appropriate beer. The pork tenderloin sliders in the second course, for instance, will be served with a Red Hook Longhammer IPA, while the tiramisu at the close of the meal will be paired with a Kona Pipeline Porter.

The dinner is $35 per person plus tax and tip. Seatings begin at 6:30 p.m. Monday and dinner continues until 11:30 p.m. Seating is limited and reservations are recommended. Call 954-524-1818.
