Coca-Cola Drops White Polar Bear Cans Because We're Too Stupid

Coke in white cans...too confusing for us.

When Coca-Cola decided to team with the World Wildlife Fund to raise money for endangered polar bears, who would have thought there would be backlash?

Coca-Cola celebrated the campaign by putting out special white cans of Coke, complete with cute polar bears cavorting. Only problem? People are mistaking the cans for Diet Coke (even though Diet Coke cans are silver and not white). According to the Wall Street Journal, people tweeted their disgust at the thought of drinking a Diet Coke by accident! "PEOPLE! Don't be a victim,'' wrote one consumer on Twitter, warning that mixing up Coke and Diet Coke is "a SHOCK to the palate!'', the WSJ reported.

So the red cans are on their way, and the white cans are being pulled off supermarket shelves. Our advice? Grab a six pack now, because they're already being sold on eBay for $4.99 a can.

What about the poor polar bears? Coca-Cola is still honoring their commitment to donate around $3 million. Awwwwww....

People are dumb. This just goes to show that the people of America truely just don't pay attention. Read before you buy, idiots. Raising money for the polar bears is a great idea, and since the polar bear icon has always been apart of Coca-Cola, i thought it was a great idea to 'Go white' Too bad Americans ruined it.

Has no one else caught on to the irony that Coke is a carbonated beverage? If CO2 causes global warming and kills polar bears, then every time you open a Coke can, regardless of the color, you are releasing carbon dioxide, thus warming the planet and killing polar bears!! We're all being Punk'd!

I admit I was at a pizza place and I was disappointed because all that was left was diet Coke and I had already payed for my combo meal. I told the girl behind the counter, "You don't have any Coke left." She said it was actually all Coke and then I remembered the campaign. So yeah, I love polar bears and the can actually looks nice, but I can see how people might make the mistake. (But thanks for calling me stupid, I had a feeling that Master's degree was a fluke.)

Or maybe people are too smart to waste their time decoding new marketing schemes for colored sugar water when all they want is the easy to spot design they're used to so they can get back to doing whatever they do without wasting any extra time.

for what it is worth i thought these were diet as well when i was handed one. It took me about 3 seconds to figure it out but i could see how "dumb" people would never figure it out and then bitch about it.
